Title I: Employment
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) enforces the employment provisions of the ADA and offers technical assistance on employment discrimination. The ADA covers private employers with 15 or more employees, as well as state and local government agencies regardless of how many employees they have. Covered employers may not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities in any aspect of the employment process.
The EEOC also offers a mediation program.

Title II: State and Local Government Services &
Title III: Public Accommodations
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) enforces Titles II and III of the ADA (except the public transportation provisions, which are enforced by the U.S. Department of Transportation). Title II covers programs, activities, and services of state and local governments (also called public entities). Title III covers public accommodations (private businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and retail stores) and commercial facilities.
The Department also offers a mediation program.

The Department of Justice Spanish language documents collection includes some of the most commonly requested publications, such as questions and answers, highlights, and information on how to file complaints.
The Department has also entered number of settlement agreements and consent agreements with a variety of businesses in the hospitality industry. These agreements can be helpful in understanding the Department’s expectations in terms of ADA implementation.
Title II: Transportation
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), through the Federal Transit Administration, offers technical assistance on the transportation provisions of the ADA.
